Eunice de Souza is an English-language poet. She has published four volumes of poetry, two novellas and edited several anthologies of poems and essays. Her most recent publication – A Necklace of Skulls, a volume of collected poems – was published by Penguin India in 2009. Her work has been translated into Portuguese, Italian, Finnish and Swedish.

K. Siva Reddy is a major voice in contemporary Telugu poetry. He has published eleven collections of poems: his first was published in 1973 and his most recent book in 2003. He has won several honours, including the Sahitya Akademi award in 1990 for his sixth book, Mohana! Oh Mohana!, which has been described as “an outstanding contribution to Indian literature in Telugu”, in which “the impassioned flow of poetry . . . is never subservient to the zeal for change”. He taught English for several years at the Vivek Vardhini College in Hyderabad, and retired recently as its principal.

Yumlembam Ibomcha Singh (born 1949) is one of the leading poets from the North-eastern state of Manipur. A poet and a short fiction writer, he has won various awards, including the Manipur State Kala Akademi Award for literature (1974), the Sahitya Akademi Award (1991) and the Sahitya Akademi Translation Prize (2008). Since the publication of his first volume of poetry in 1973, he has published three more collections. He lives in Imphal, the state capital of Manipur.
